Ciri dan Contoh Asking, Responsive Certainty and Uncertainty

Asking And Responding Certainty adalah expression yang digunakan untuk menanyakan keyakinan/kepastian dan merespon suatu pernyataan tentang pertanyaan tersebut. Ada beberapa kalimat yang bisa digunakan untuk menanyakan kepastian, antara lain :

1.Are you sure ?

2.Are you certain ?

3.Are you positive ?

4.Is that definite ?

5.Is it confirmed ?

6.Really ?

7.Is that right ?

8. Are you really certain about that ?

Sedangkan ungkapan yang digunakan untuk merespon suatu kepastian antara lain :

1.I’m a hundred percent sure

2.I’m absolutely certain

3.I’m quite sure/certain

4.Certainly/definitely

5.No doubt

6.Of course

Kalimat yang mengungkapkan Uncertaity :

1.I’m not too sure

2.I couldn’t say

3.I couldn’t really be sure

4.There’s some doubt in my mind

5.I’m not convinced

Contoh dialog :

A         :“Are you sure you can make a banana cake ?

B         :”I’m very sure.

A         :”Are you sure it’s the correct steps of making this traditional cake

B         :”I’m certain with the way of cooking but I doubt with the amount of flour and  
              grated coconut for good portion”

A         :”Well, you do the steps right, but I wonder why the dough is stuck on the pan.   
              This must have something to do with the dough”

B         :”Let me think about it.I’m sure we need more fat for it but it’s no oil must be 
              used, for sure”

A         :”You right. Maybe we can add more grated coconut to make it greasy”

B         :”Good idea. Let’s try again”
